First Day of Spring

The wind is strong and cold but nonetheless the snow is slowly retreating and the bare patch in the front yard is growing. There were just the regulars yesterday at the birdfeeder: chickadees and red polls. I regularly hear crows now but they have never tried landing on the feeder yet. They are too large. The photo is of a chickadee. They are faithful visitors to the feeder but always stay only briefly and then flit away.
