Almost zero

This morning there were no birds at the feeder for about ten minutes. I just sat admiring the bright sunshine refelcting from the feeder and illuminating the spruce and the snow covered ground. Then two red polls appeared and finally a third. All of a sudden a black capped chickadee popped onto the feeder snatched a sunflower seed and was off to the cover of the spruce. That is it. No house sparrows, no woodpeckers, no grosbeaks. Almost zero refers to the birds not the temperature. It is minus 26 not almost zero!
