There are oodles of red polls busy all day at the feeder. I restocked the feeder with sunflower seeds. I should buy some suet strips some day! There were also quite a few chickadees today so I have included a photo of one--borrowed from another site.
I did not see any pine grosbeaks or even any house sparrows today (March 5). However, the downy woodpecker was back. When he gets frustrated when he finds nothing under the spruce tree bark he comes and pigs out at the feeder.
On our shopping trip to the next town all I saw was one lone raven.
